Classic-er Ninja Gaiden

Are there any old school arcade gamers out there? I know it's a little late to ask the questions that I'm about to ask, but it was on my mind so I figured I'd try to get some feedback. There was so much hype that came along with Ninja Gaiden for the XBox, and all of it was deserved. It's a great game. My question is, why is it that when they show all of the old Nintendo clips that the game was "remaking", they completely ignore the arcade version?

IMHO, the arcade version was far superior to the Nintendo games in the fun factor category even if it didn't make much sense. A ninja in the city pounding on Friday the 13th rejects is a little farfetched, but it was a freaking awesome game. I think they should have called the console version something else and left the arcade version alone.

Why do they do this to cool games? It's like when you hear a song on the radio, then buy the cd and there's a completely different version of the song on it. Not only that, but the original song that you loved is nowhere to be found.
