clean hard drive

I hope some one here can help i have an external hard drive (IOMEGA 320) and it is infected with at least 4 worms plus trojan downloader what i need to know is how can i clean it without reinfecting my computer what i mean is if i restart the drive with the cable to the computer plugged in will it infect it.

i have NERO7 and ACRONIS10 can i clean with these????????

thanks but that just takes me to READ ME RUN i do not have a problem with malwear in the PC it is in my stand alone(EXTRA) hard drivewhich for the moment is not attatched to the PC what i need is a way to clean the hard drive without infecting the PC

if i connect the external drive will it corrupt my pc before i can clean it?????

 

I would suggest that you run your antivirus program, as soon as you connect the usb drive, and direct it to check the usb drive, immediately.
From my experiences, as long as your antivirus is up to date, and was directed to a drive to check, I have not experienced the infected drive contaminating the host drive.

 

ok thanks bak i have tried that and all seems to be good for the moment i think the best thing i can now do is overwrite the secondary drive and see how it comes out
