Clean up "MSCONFIG" startup list

I have several unchecked items in my msconfig startup list (Win7 X64), and I don't like seeing 'em there. True, they don't "hurt" anything or cause any problems, but I simply don't like seeing these unwanted items listed there (screen shot is attached below to illustrate what I'm talking about). How do I remove 'em permanently from the list? Of course, if there's a chance that I might re-enable something, I'd leave it in the list, but for the most part, the items listed have been uninstalled long ago and the entries are dead ghosts. I want 'em GONE!

If they don't clean with CC or a dedicated registry tool, you can edit them out:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software > Microsoft > Windows > Current Version > Run and RunServices...

I'd do a reg backup if you want to re-enable, or at least copy any entries you delete.

Also look in Start > Programs > Disabled Startup Items, delete anything in there.

 

:-o I didn't know that CCleaner had a "startup" option in the "Tools" menu. :-o I knew there was an uninstaller and some other stuff, but I had no idea that removing these dead entries could be EASILY accomplished with CCleaner (screen shot attached). Thanks for pointing out the obvious Tim! And, yes, I run the CCleaner reg cleanup fairly regularly, maybe once every 4-6 weeks.
