   Doofus Private First Class

   Is it necessary to try to clean up a HD of all possible spy/malware/virus/rootkit etc infections, delete restore points etc, before an OS (XPSP2) re-install, or will the re-formatt process take care of any bugs lurking in the system? Thanks.
