Cleaning windows 7 ?

    What is the best tool to clean old files and registry in windows 7?

    CCleaner is the only one I would use, you can do some damage with these type softwares, but CC is fairly safe IMO.

    Old files use ccleaner, dont bother with registery cleaning.

    Hi my friend , i am trying manually way like this :wave

    Start - Run typing temp - ok - you could delete all components of that file

    If you have problem with any file which is locked this is the tool to get rid of

    I would agree with this 100% and while cleaning old files and folders is a great option and do use Add/Remove to uninstall any applications you no longer need, that CCleaner will remove some of the junk.

    Registry cleaning is not really going to do much, its great for troubleshooting but anything else its a waste of effort.

    MajorGeeks recently provided an offer to have forum members download Wise Care 365. I downloaded and tested the program (free version with a Professional upgrade available).

    It looks like a very effective system clean-up tool that combines a number of separate tools that I now use (Ccleaner, etc.) Has anyone used this tool? Comments and thoughts?
