ClearType Color Distortion

I've recently got into using the ClearType feature for Windows that make the fonts look sharper. Though I've noticed there are certain color distortions in certain places of fonts. For example, the 'i' and 'l' all have a little tint of red in them.

And on certain programs you'll see distortions like so:

This only occurs for certain letters as seen in the first picture, and just recently did I notice the "blue" distortion. I was wondering if anybody knew what was wrong, or what I can do to fix this?
