CLI.exe error on one desktop, working fine on another

I recently changed my mobo to an ABIT KV7V w an AMD Sempron 3000+ and a gig of RAM and have had several issues. I worked them out while working on my desktop, but when i switch to my wife's I am getting error messages.

CLI.exe generated an exception that could not be handled: Process id= 0xf84 (3972), Thread id=0xf94 (3988).

after hitting cancel to debug (I figured, Why Not?!) the numbers changed to:
Process id= 0xf08 (3848), Thread id=0x8dc (2268).

Then it couldn't find the JIT debugger (Registered JIT Debugger is not available!) and said:
cordbg.exe !a 0xf84 (which later changed to 0xf08)

I hit cancel and got one final error message:
GetDriveLayout: CreateFile fail !
Access denied. So I hit OK...

and here I am.

Anyone had any experience with this CLI.exe error and know how to resolve it? It's driving me nuts that it's only happening on one desktop!

 

What is CLI.exe?

Description:
cli.exe is installed alongside ATI's range of graphics cards with the Catalyst hardware driver range. Installs a easy-to-access taskbar icon for access to diagnostics features. This is a non-essential process. Disabling or enabling this is down to user preference

My suggestion: since it is not an essential process and that it does NOT have to load along with Windows, go to START > RUN > msconfig > OK
under 'Startup' page, uncheck (clear) the box next to that entry, click OK and reboot the system when prompted and see if errors continue.

Note: you could make the necessary display related changes from: Start > Control Panel > Display if needed.

For future reference, try googling the main part of the error message (try opening www.google.com and search for this: CLI.exe generated an exception ) and you'd see that it almost always gives you helpful links.
