Hello everyone! Happy New Year. I am new to this forum and found it during an on-line search for a problem I am having.

I recently upgraded from Win98 to WinXP. In Outlook Express and Internet Explorer and am not able to access a clickable link. For instance, if someone sends me a web address in an e-mail I have to cut and paste into IE to access the page. Or if I am on a specific web page and click on a link that takes me elsewhere nothing happens.

Can anyone help me......this is getting a little frustrating!

    Thanks in advance.

You see, my problem was nothing would open so that I could look at it - big pain! Yes, you were rude, but thanks, it did work.

    Sorry to have troubled you.

It was my first time here and probably my last.

All could have been avoided if you had read the:

STOP! BEFORE YOU POST READ THIS! thread

If you could have opened this thread to see a reply, you could have searched and read the STOP! post as well.

Get your problem fixed then leave. I see how it is. Thanks for contributing.

Im with you. They stroll in, expect help and will then leave. You dont read the big READ THIS FIRST post, dont bother searching for a problem repeated over and over again, then call someone rude who apologized in advance for pointing out your rudeness. WTF is wrong with people? Were here to help you and you piss on the site and people who are here to help you for nothing. Good riddance.

I feel bad because I don't contribute much. But then again I don't know all that much, so it balances out. I do read this site religiously though. That has to count for something :)

No need to feel bad at all, everyone here is at varying levels of knowledge and expertise. We all had to start somewhere. Reading religiously means you're willing to learn, no one can ask for a better attitude than that. As you learn, there will be more questions you'll be able to answer and more people you'll be able to help. I think an issue in this thread was that someone wasn't willing to read and learn about how these boards work. You sound like you don't have that problem :)

    No need, indeed, Mikey.
The helpers wouldn't be here if the questioners didn't need help. And the answers you get don't just help YOU; for a long time after you get a solution, others will benefit from your questions and the answers.
    Everybody plays a part.
And never think that the people who usually HELP here don't have any questions of their own. Everybody you see answering questions here has posted questions and sought help from the others.
    Yessir, "it balances out."

Its all good MikeyG! We dont mind at all if people can't help, its why were here. I just didnt care for his "your all rude, answer my question and I am leaving" attitude. Human nature, you help people out and they crap on you, you get pissed off :)

It counts for alot. Each article you read, gives you knowledge and when it happens to you, or a friend has a problem and you can help, it makes you feel good.

I've been a member since the very begining and only have 100+ posts. I'm like you, read all of the software articles, but answer few.

I feel that if the question is answered, why add.
