Is it possible to lower the sensitivity of the touchpad?
    start>control panel>mouse>device settings

Does this happen only when you are physically touching the pad?

You could try uninstalling and reinstalling the pad.
    Or replacing the driiver.

Have you recently installed any new software?
If so, try restoring your system to a date before the install.

I need to crash for the night.
I'll check this thread for replies tomorrow morning.
