clicktracking.info pop up help please

I have been getting porn popup internet explorer windows. The windows nave no menu bars. The images from them appear to be coming from subdirectories in clicktracking.info.
How do I make this stop?

If you already have any of the programs linked in the tutorial please double check your version to make sure you have the latest one and that you have any/all updates for the programs.

definitely no-no.

this shit,defined as ezsearching, was removed several times yet popups continue.

now no more AdultFriendFinder.com (which is the place actually where paid whores advertising is done - broah I find this world disgusting).

now ProductTestersGroup.com, with "WIN A FREE LAPTOP", or, by now, "YOURS TO KEEP*" a Canon Digital Rebel Camera 6.3MegaPixels.

all this bullshit.
they just want your email address I think.

I contacted Patrick from safer-networking, I await an answer, but to make sure, I'll look over it thoroughly, and will inform you somewhat later.

till the time, I advise you to add "clicktracking.info" as "127.0.0.1" into your hosts file (%WinSysDir%\drivers\etc\hosts under NT/2k/XP, %WinDir%\hosts under W9x/Me).

you will just get much less annoying cannot find server messages (or a 404 error if you run a webserver on your pc).

erm...

it also uses "sitetracking.info" for the same purpose.
add it to the hosts file also.

WARNING: you might not be able to save your hosts file if you use some resident protection like TeaTimer/SDHelper, or SpywareBlaster. most of them only set file as "read-only" which is, although enough against lamers, can be changed in ~40 bytes of code with API calls.

I have this same problem with clicktracking, but my computer pops up another window that says connecting to xxxtoolbar, and by the time I realize it, its downloaded stuff onto my computer, I know how coolwebsearch etc... im using your site and working on it though..

Adding items to the hosts file is not always very useful. Most more advance malware will just delete those lines. Even if you have the hosts file write protected (read only), they will change the attribute and then change the file. I'm not saying that is the case with this one. I'm just saying it is no the solution. The only line that belongs in a hosts file is 127.0.0.1 localhosts.

Read my post in message #2 and do the READ ME. Start your own thread if still having a problem after that. Make sure you follow ALL steps and indicate that in your message.

Actually, the same applies to you Crusher. This thread belongs to bgcc11 but he has never come back.
