Client_died

Has anyone received the CLIENT_DIED message in a console?

 

Hmm, never heard of it and not even in fahwiki glossary. Any other messages with that or was it just that alone?

The client that died was on my daughter's PC and the CPU and Memory settings are at default values.

 

You might want to run MemTest just to be on the safe side.
Maybe a RAM module is getting a little flaky.

 

Ya, that and maybe OCCT too though mind you rond36, that is a very heavy test of all your components. I would stick with memtest86+ for now. Have you deleted the work folder, the queue.dat and unitinfo.txt and tried to grab a new WU? Do they all do that? Maybe you just got a bad one, it happens from time to time.

 

I deleted the work folder, the queue.dat and unitinfo.txt files and the core and have the client back running. The WU was a 900+ point Gromacs @ 98% :cry

I think what happened was IE locked up the PC and my daughter hit the reset and that corrupted the core. I may have been able to just delete the core and let it DL a new one when it does not find it. maybe that would have recovered the WU. IE has been causing lockups on that PC for a while, even before I started folding on it. Maybe it is time to switch to Firefox :cool
