someone pointed this out at another site -

If your like me and use your windows clipboard alot then who knows what websites have collected from us.

The biggest threat is if you copy your internet banking security code or password to your clipboard, then go surfing. You may even copy your Credit Card number when buying online, so it is easier to fill in the details, you may then go to a site that harvests your clipboard information.

If you do the above, don't, as there is an exploit out that can gather that information from your PC. There are a number of malicious websites just waiting for you.

I have provided an example that you can see for yourself how this works, the example does NOT harvest the information, it just displays it as an example of what malicious websites can do.

Copy some text, then click on the link below for an example :

To solve the problem and protect yourself, go to the security tab under Tools>Internet Options>Security, click Custom Level, scroll down to Scripting and disable "Allow paste operations via script."

    Found at Shell City

    Thanks.
I sat here for a while and I tried to think of ANY reason why that should even be in there as a "feature".. honestly, I couldn't come up with anything.. I don't see any need for this and it could be dangerous..

I encourage people to disable it or at the very least, set it for prompt.

I use a cute little program called allchars for accurately posting such items - also incorporates an encryption facility.
    allchars.zwol.net
    Its free

If any of you still using Outlook Express 5,5 sp2 suddenly loose the ability to insert pictures in your posts, this "tweak" is the reason. So, back to "Enable" for me.

Good smiley there. I didn't really feel the need to upgrade to 6.0 yet (reasons ?), not that I won't, I just didn't. I agree with failing to connect the clipboard with the inserting issue, but there you have it. It was a troubleshoot for me, and maybe it will clear somebody else's problems as well.
