I have a question that involves the motherboard battery. You know the flat silver battery. I have a computer that runs very sluggish and the clock is no longer working on the computer, well it works but the time can never stay at the right time. Hopefully I am not being too confusing, I was wondering if replacing the battery in the motherboard to fix the clock would solve the sluggish problem with the computer?

When a PC clock does not keep the proper time, the first thing to do is replace the MOBO battery "the flat silver battery" can buy for about $2, you must buy one of the same voltage.

If you PC is sligish, probably windows full of garbage/need good ole clean up/Defrag/Hardware problems/spyware/virus problems or combination of all.
Battery probably has nothing to do with PC being slugish, only the time.

ok thanks, one more question I ntoiced when I try to start up the computer (windows XP Pro) the welcome screen never goes to the desktop, I find I am having to hit crtl+Alt+Delete at least twice for it to even go to the desktop now any idea what could be the problem there?
