Cloning Headache With Minitool Partition Wizard

I've been trying all day to clone an existing 2.5 HDD in a Samsung N130 Notebook/Win7Starter ( Atom 1.6 Proc plus 2Gb SODDIM ) onto a new Crucial BX500 240Gb SSD..... and am at hair-tearing stage. I've been trying MiniTool Partition Wizard, and eventually had downloaded folders for PartWizard AND ShadowMaker. The latter installed OK. The former didn't.... serially. Several errors reported - usually FileMove: Code 5. I tried several times to uninstall, redownload and retry Install. Same failure mode.

I tried the MiniTool Offline Installer as advised - same problem.

My Bitdefender 2020 picked up a worm and a trojan in the downloaded file.... it took a while to get rid of them.

The BX500 device wouldn't show up on the Notebook's 'Device Manager' or 'Devices and Drives', despite the 'ping' audio-alert when the USB/SATA cable was connected. I d'loaded the software onto a different PC, plugged in the BX500, ran the software - and it displayed the anticipated partition map correctly, proving the cable, the software and the BX500 were serviceable.

I reconnected the BX500 to the Win7 Notebook and am running the MiniTool ShadowMaker utility, using Clone option. This is copying over data slowly and I expect it to finish before 2020 London Time.

How, please, may can I verify what's been copied over to the SSD is A-OK so I can confidently transplant this new device into the elderly Notebook, replacing its HDD?
