Closed Port

I ran the Shields Up diagnostic recently (https://www.grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2) I received a passing grade on the File Sharing and Common Ports diagnostic (as I usually do). But now on the "All Service Ports" diagnostic I don't get a "Failed" grade because my port 68 doesn't come up as stealthed anymore but rather as closed. I tried resetting my McAfee Security Center back to the defaults and then set it to stealth mode again but port 68 still comes up as Closed instead of Stealthed.

Anyone know why this change might have taken place or if I should be concerned?

Keep in mind that if you've got a router, you're probably scanning that.

Port 68 is used for bootp or dhcp, but there is no service actually listening on the port (which is why it's closed). Your ISP may be intercepting what is ostensibly dhcp or bootp traffic, or your router simply may have the port set as closed and not stealthed. In any case, 'closed' is not really less secure than 'stealth'.

Alternately, if your PC is running a dhcp server (if you're running Internet Connection Sharing, for example, then that's why it's not stealthed.
