    Hi there,
An inbound events log told me that I have much too incoming activity on ports 135, 139, and 445, which, I understand, are linked to NetBios.
I was wondering whether I could shut them down for good, and if so, how?
    Thanks in advance :)

Yeah, I'm running McAfee's firewall on my computer.
Disable Netbios, you say? How can I do that?
    Many thanks (:)

Wow. That was really really helpful, it reduced the amount of attempted attacks by a large percentage. Thanks a lot.
I'm still seeing a lot of activity on port 445. Can it be shut down?

    This is so... odd.
Cmd.exe doesn't indicate there's any listening going on with port 445... and yet there's still an amount of attempts to hack through port 445. :S

    Attempts :)
It means that 445 is shut down?
