Closing threads, first time posters.

Congrats to MA, (and others, if I have forgotten them), for keeping the crap out of MG and closing down lots, lately.

 

Besides which,replying to it doesn't give you guys a heads-up. And reporting can't hurt. You guys make your own judgement calls as to what needs to be removed or modified. And do a darned good job of it.

 

And fast! It is very rare that I see anything before its been closed a long time! Excellent work, mods!

 

Lately I'm starting to feel like a tattletale! Just reported yet another one, in fact. I think I've sent about ten in the last few days.

But hey...I know how hard it is to keep track of everything from being a mod elsewhere, and I know how much I appreciate those reported posts so I don't have to look at every thread myself.

Neither MailWasher or MailWasher Pro worked for me, with AOL, but that was a long time ago.
From what I remember MW works on 1 email address only, MWP works with multiple email addresses.

I'm just curious out of all the spammers that try to post here...how many of them come back and see that they have been busted...and/or reply again, if for some reason it takes a bit to get the thread locked down!?!? And if sos...what is typically their response??

They don't. It appears largely automated. The various texts, bad grammar included, are repeated time and time again. The user name and target website changes, but the pattern is there.

Yeah. I was sitting here reading this thread and looked in the lounge and there it was, the "wedding tackle" guy.

Saw one awhile back that said something about XXX FREE SEX I think.

It's not all that glamorous. vBulletin forums' "soft delete" feature can clutter up a mod's viewing experience pretty badly if the transgressions aren't tidied up and kicked permanently to the curb regularly.
