Hello. Everytime I startup my windows my computer runs slowly then I get an error report saying CMD.exe encountered a problem and had to close. What is this referring to? What is CMD.exe? And is this a problem? Thanks

Cmd.exe is a sort of dos like aspect of XP, you can get there by typing CMD in your run box and click ok then type exit to get out. Many different programs call on the Cmd function to start parts of themselves up. If one of your startup programs is not working right it maybe crashing the cmd.exe function or asking it to do something wrong or corrupt. Try looking in your Event Viewer for any clues to which program is causing the crash.
Imediately after you start your system and get the error, go to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer and look under both system and applications sections for any errors associated with the command function. Right click any warnings or errors you see that correspond to the same time the error occurs and select properties to see an explaination.
