CMD window

OK, the other day i installed a USB multi card reader. No problems.
Now, when I open my computer it lists all the drives from the card reader available. No problem.
When I try to open one of these drives instead of opening it up so I can veiw the files, I get the cmd.exe window poping up (C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe)
is the fix for this simple or have i been got at by a trojan.

 

try right clicking on the card and selecting explore instead of open or just double clicking it.

 

yes that does work. when i right click on a drive icon the menu item "open command window here" is in bold. most other folder icons have the "open" menu item is in bold.
It was'nt like this two days ago.

 

Not really sure why it's doing that. Maybe try going into properties and digging a little. maybe it'll uncover the truth.

 

OK, i've managed to get things sorted out.
I opened, My Computer, Tools, Folder options.
Then choose the "File types" tab then the "Advanced" button.
In the next window choose the "New" button, choose a name of your choice.
I just named it "Open" then go to "browse" and navigate to C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe
Click OK then select "open" and set this as default.
close everything and try opening a drive icon, you should now see all the files within.
