My Dell XPS 8300 has a maverick clasp holding the cell in place. It seems to have a spring or a coil in it.
I have tried to gently lift it off the cell.
I the tried pushing it down. The manual is of no help and all the tutorials do not show how to release the clasp to exchange the 3. V battery.
They show people struggling to do it so it must not be too easy.
I don't want to pry against the board nor damage the clip on the battery as it is the positive continuity piece.
Does anyone here know the trick or the way it's done?
    TY

    Hi Eldon
Just where you have the outline is where the clip is. It seems to be a spring. On the battery side there is an arm that holds the cell in and is the positive lead. On the other side of the spring there is a piece of wire. Where on the spring do you place the pusher to push it away from the battery ? I can't find a picture of this darn maverick Dell so will post a pik asap.
I use a plastic pencil with no lead and press power for 5 seconds after turning it off.

Posting a picture of the battery holder will help.
