CMOS for Asus K601

Hi, I am trying to find out what kind of battery I need for my Asus laptop. My CMOS battery is completely dead and the Asus support was no help in finding out the exact battery I need to replace it. I can find models similar to mine but not my exact model. Does anyone know what kind of battery I need to buy? I saw a video of someone just using a Duracell 2032 for a model similar to mine.

 

Hi my friend , what is the exact model of your laptop ? At the bottom of the laptop a sticker is located with the model , you have to dismantle the laptop using this guide

after that you can pull out the old battery buying the same new one ( with same specs ) :wave

 

The sticker is kind of worn from the laptop being 3 years old but I believe it's Asus K601-RBBBR05

The B's could be 8's and the 1 in K601 could be an i. I am not sure because it is so worn out.
I don't have the tools to take it apart, so best buy is going to replace it for me. They just need me to buy the part, so I am trying to find out what it is exactly I need.

I got it fixed for less than $5. I went to Batteries Plus, told them I needed a size 2032 CMOS battery, showed them my laptop and they knew exactly which one I needed. I bought it, and the tech working there popped open the back of my laptop, without disassembling the entire thing, and popped the new one in place with in 5 minutes for free! Easiest cheapest fix I have encountered for a laptop.
