About once a month during bootup, I get the choice to go into the BIOS with del or to continue with the bootup with F1. The reason is given in bad English that the frequency of the CMOS needs to be changed. Does anyone have a clue what this might refer to? I went through the BIOS and there is nothing relating to the frequency of the CMOS. Is it possible that the CMOS is bad and needs to be changed? And why the bad English? LOL

    Hi Abri

On bad English, likely the motherboard or Bios where made not in Native English speaking country and translation to English often ends up in some mixed text ( Fuji had a funny on a phot machine I worked on, Error Auto Loader Jumming should have been Error Auto Loader Jamming ).

Frequency could be linked to Front Side Bus ( FSB ) or CPU speed, Ram ratios etc, as its only once a month over every boot, thats a strange one. You could dependent on age of PC if over a few years old or if PC been off for long periods, change the Bios motherboard battery, or reset CMOS settings ( pull the battery for 5-10mins then replace ) this resets all the settings to default, so if you have any custom settings then write them down, as you may need to put them back.
