    Hello,

I recently put in some new DDR-333 RAM (512 mb), and had some problems with it, so I switched positions of the new stick with my old one and it worked, However, Ive been having some problems when playing a certain game, and its giving me the same BSOD as when i first put my ram in. I was told to try clearing the CMOS, I just wanted to know, Is this dangerous? How do I do it, and what do i have to reset after??

    Thanks

to clear the CMOS on most motherboards, there should be a jumper next to the battery with 3 prongs. Simply move the jumper to the the discharge position (from covering One side and the middle prong, to the other side and the middle prong) and wait about a minute, and then set it back....voila

BUT! if you're not too comfortable with the BIOS, take note of how they are configured now so you know what values to use:p

ok, so your other post says you have an A7V333, and while updating the BIOS is usually nice, you shouldnt NEED to. Have you installed the VIA 4-in-1 drivers? if not, click here to go to the download page, and get them.

if you decice to flash your BIOS, be SURE to read up on how to do it before you continue....if you can create problems. Luckily, ASUS send out an easy uility on their Driver CD called WINFLASH. once you have that installed, Download the latest drivers and point winflash to the place you saved them, and simply click FLASH. it should do the work for you.

also, is your motherboard the plain A7V333? or the A7V333-X with extra features?
