My laptop comes with a COA, but it does not appear to be a license. If I don't have the XP disc how can I get a new disc? What is the info on the laptop bottom?

    Hi

On the COA their should be typed your Licence/Product key to the Windows version that was originally installed. More info on COAs HERE

so if you see a Product Key and text like this (btw not a real key) FCVB8 - BVGG7 - XXXXX - 3HG5X - VVVVV then thats your Licence key.

Most of the time on OEM PCs like Dells they come with a restore partition and the Dell Dimension 8300's instructions are HERE on how to achieve this, so will need to tell us what make and model of Laptop you have so we can check to see if it has instructions like this?

But if you need a replacement disk from Dell the request form is HERE or call their support line and request one (off hand dont know how much they charge)
