My problem is that my cd and dvd rom has completely disappeared and won't work. I get the code 32 error.
I tried uninstalling the driver and reinstalling...didn't work
I tried to update the driver and it says the driver is up to date.
The drive shows up in my device manager as
HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GH60N SCSI CdRom Device

    The error reads:
A driver (service) for this device has been disabled. An alternate driver may be providing this functionality. (Code 32)

    Please help!

Thanks so much for the quick reply to my post.
I read the article you asked me to read and I had already done that and it didn't fix my problem. I have tried System Restore and that didn't fix it either. What do I do now? I am getting really concerned.....

Well, I took a deep breath, closed my eyes and deleted the lower filters, restarted my computer and PRAISE GOD, it looks like everything is working properly again. I thank you for your help. I appreciate it more than you will ever know.
Have a glorious day in the sweet name of Jesus Christ.
