    Windows 7 Ultimate-old computer-only 1 GB ram-what are these Codecs you place on your front page? What are they and how can they improve my computer? My computer runs smooth and awesome for what simplicity I use it for. Do I need these things?

    You don't need a codecs package unless you are unable to run any types of videos that you need to run. Then you can look around for a codecs package or codec for that type of video file...
