Looked on the Major Geeks map and could not find Colemanguy, but his profile says Salina, Kansas, and he has been on today. Salina is a fair distance from Greensburg, so hopefully he is okay

Colemanguy, I hope you and all others that were in harm’s way in Kansas are okay. My condolences to the families and friends of the dead and injured. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Just watched news on CNN then spotted these posts. Unbelievable! My prayers for those that have been affected by this devasting event. Hopefully our mates at MG are safe, because I've noted some of the counties mentioned that were hit.

Holy crap guys, i appreciate all the well wishes. We drove through the storms today (saterday) night on the way back to salina from the boy scout summer camp i work for sometimes. Its next to kirwin lake. I am fine and at home having a drink and watching the thunder/lightening outside. Again thank so make for all the concern.

 

Seconded. I really hope the dead in Greensborough are the only ones. My deep condolences to their families, my prayers are with you.

Unbelievable destruction and loss of life. Rams home the fact that a persons world can change in an instant - makes the arguement I had with my wife before coming to work seem pretty stupid . . .

That picture reminds me of Cyclone Tracy that wiped out the Northern Territory capital city of Darwin on Christmas Day, 1974. Over 50 dead then. :cry

I was working 500 miles away (800km) and all our communications went through Darwin, at that time. Our mining town was out of communication with the rest of the world for 2 days until a local Ham radio operator managed to tell the outside uur town was all OK.

I think I much prefer Cyclones to Tornadoes.
At least you usually get a couple of days notice, not 20 minutes as poor Kansas did.

My sympathies to all affected by the Tornadoes that are racing through the Mid-West of the USA at present.
