I seem to have lost the capability to change the colour of the text in my e-mails. I had no problems until a couple of weeks ago. Just select the desired text, then choose a colour. Probably just having a seniors moment, but would appreciate any assistance. Thank you.

What are you composing your emails in? Plain text, rich text or html? If plain then this could be causing your problem. Changed any settings recently?

Normally HTML, but I have also tried the alternates without success.

When you say you have lost the ability to do this, do you mean that those options are grayed out, or you make the changes and they simply change back again immediately?

Also are these emails you are creating from scratch, or are you trying to reply to one you received? If the latter and the person sent it in plain text format, you won't be able to change them.

This problem occurs on all e-mails. I choose the text with the mouse, then pick the colour by clicking on the arrow alongside the "A", and then choose the required colour. The chosed colour shows up alongside the "A" but does not carry through to the chosen text. In the past I have carried out this procedure many times. Many thanks for your patience.

I'm thinking somehow your install has become corrupt. You will need you Outlook CD to carry out a repair using the Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs menu.

Highlight the program and click the Change/Remove button. Select the Repair option and work through the instructions that appear.

Are you using Word as your email editor? If you open a Word document, can you change text colour?

I can change colours when using Word, but they will not transfer to e mail format, even on cut/paste.

    It sure is ;)

    Let's try this:

Go to the Run box on the Start Menu and type in:

sfc /scannow (Note that there is a space between sfc and /scannow)

    Have your CDs handy again.

Still no result Lev, I think that I will have to learn to live with this blip. Any time that I think coloured text will help I will use another computer. Very grateful for your kindness and patience.
