What Windows version and Service Pack are you using?

What Motherboard (eg. ASUS, Gigabyte etc) or OEM PC (eg. DELL, HP, ACER etc) are you using, make and model please.

If Device manager do you have any yellow ! marks, if so by what devices?

Need to answer my questions in full? need to know the motherboard or OEM PC make and model to assist you more, without this we cannot find drivers that are compatible.

Make sure when you log into the forum that you click the remember me tick box next to your login name, then follow the instructions for zipping up the file if using Speccy (the file needs putting into a zip file as the file type xml is not recognised by the forums software) or if using Everest just attach.

Do you have any devices in Device Manager that have a yellow ! mark next to them, please mention all as they maybe relevent.

Thanks for the Everest report as that helps with your hardware but need the earlier question of Device Manager and yellow ! marks checking.

My first thought is the chipset is missing but also your COM port maybe faulty as well. So try this but please answer the questions first.

Install the Via HyperionPro driver from HERE and reboot (important to reboot) and see if this works.

The COM port is the Bluetooth one thats causing the issue I would imagine? if so as this is likely an addon card, whats its make and model? as their are a few makes that use the IVT ox16c95x chip.

Uninstall the Blurtooth driver and software, take out the PCI card and then re-install the card then the driver, but only after the Chipset above has been installed.

Is this a bluetooth car you are installing that is not working as ox16c95x is a bluetooth listed card, and is it definaly COM Port 1 as if it is then you have some motherboard issues?

Did you take out the Bluetooth card, uninstall the driver and then reboot, then re-enter the card and driver?

Boot into Safe Mode (F8 at boot) then open Device Manager and uninstall all COM ports listed then reboot and see if that clears this up as at times Windows may keep installing new ports that corrupt the previous ones, thus the device doesnt work, amy also need to install any driver software that came with the device.

May need to enter the BIOS (key/s to press will show on boot) then find the listing for COM ports and disable them, then save and exit to allow Windows to control the COM ports and see if that works.


Is your audio not also working as you have not mentioned this previously?

For Audio as you have installed as you mentioned earlier the ViaHyperion Chipset driver then now install the Microsoft UAA HD Audio driver from HERE (as you have SP2 installed for XP) then Audio driver from this page HERE

If on install its stating that ignore it and continue with installing the driver for your Bluetooth COM device/card.
