So Ive got 2 1tb hard drives that I wish to be displayed as a single drive in windows for the sake of simplicity and cleanliness. However, I would prefer to do this without using RAID 0. Is this possible?

Just curious - when you say you want to combine the drives for simplicity and cleanliness, what do you mean?

There are advantages and disadvantages to any method of drive usage.

Well I need a few TB's for storing my media and I noticed its cheaper to buy 2 1tb than a single 2tb or 2 2tb than a single 4tb so I thought I would do that. The problem with that is I dont want to see two drives listed, call me anal but it bothers me...so I want to combine them without using raid 0 since that reduces fault tolerance.

Spanning looks like it fits the bill but now I keep seeing people saying dynamic disks are bad but Im not sure why exactly.
