Hey everyone just want to say thanks for this forum it is an awesome place for information. I have been running combofix for a short time now. I have had not problems at all. Yesterday I ran it on a client's computer and it seems to have deleted a ton or programs and files such as pictures and documents. I have read the prior posts and tried the fixes to get the information back with no luck. I could really use some help here. Please tell me what information you need and will get it to you thanks in advance for your help.

Combo should never be run without supervision. You need to attach the Combofix log from the latest run. Do not run it again.

I did try and run it again here recently. I will attach the log report can I get that from the ooboxx folder correct?

If you downloaded it to the desktop, as you should have, the log will be at C:\ComboFix.txt.

Here is what I can see. I tried to attach the quarentine file as well but too large.

Your log doesn't show any of those items removed. Try zipping the Qoobox folder and attaching that.

Also, run MGtools and save it to your root folder. So it is C:\MGTools.exe and run the exe. Then attach the C:\MGLogs.zip.

It actually looks like when I ran it again with the fix most of the stuff came back. Minus some internet links and a few pictures here and there. And maybe some programs but I think I might be all good.

Thanks for your help Tim. Greatly appriciated. You know how to restore IE links on the start menu? Says something about shortcut target and the shortcut sheet.
