Does anyone know of a command that will eject the CD tray?:confused

I already know about the pinhole and paper clip trick. And I don't want to install any software. :(

And I already know about ejecting it by right clicking the drive under My Computer. I know about all of the common/basic ways. I really need to know if there is a command or key(s)

    Thanks,

What Command system are you working under?

Oh, sorry. I forgot to mention that I was looking for something that would work for both Windows 2000 and XP via the Start>Run
then maybe some type of command.

For example. Say the drive seems to be locked up reading a CD and it won't eject via the button on the drive and you can't get to the drive via My Computer because that's locked up as well from trying to read the CD, etc.

Basically I'm doing this remotely via PCAnywhere and the user can't help me.:(

CD Tray will work well for what you're looking for here.

I know that you said that you did not want a software solution; however this CD Tray works independently of the problem that you’re having with using "Right click > My Computer"

And this proggie is so tiny (153 kb) and can detect all the CD drives connected to the computer. Works with all CD drives, as long as the drives use tray mechanism.

It requires no "installation" (just download it open the zip download and you're good to go - without setup) and CD Tray can easily be set to start with Windows and sit comfortable in your taskbar until you need it.

    Good Luck!

Ok, it's not exactly what I'm looking for, but it's worth a try. :)

    Thanks

    Oh anytime, really, Mickey... )

After I saw your post I just thought you might like using it while you're waiting for the command answer. I installed CD Tray when a button broke on my PC case way back when I was using Win 98 and have used it on all of my subsequent computers since then.

Aside from having virtually no footprint the nice thing about it is that once you "right click" on the taskbar icon there, and then click "Start with Windows" you're all set - you won't even notice it.

    Good Luck!

Hey man... that's a GREAT little app you linked to! Thanx! I haven't really been looking for anything like that, but now that I have it, I don't know how I got by without it ;)
    Thanx again...

Oh anytime hopperdave! My pleasure really... ;)

I know what you mean too - it's always great to stumble onto a very useful app that we really didn't even know about before (and it's freeware, too!)

    Good Luck!
