I'm having problems coming up with the printer name that a user selects if I call the ShowPrinter method on a common dialog control in VB6. I just need the device name of the printer they select so I can set a vb6 printer object to the device that they select and send print output directly to it.

I have seen the Hdc property of the control, but it seems to change every time it is accessed so I don't even know if I can use an API call to get the name of the printer.

A pointer in the right direction, or even better a link to some sample code would be much appreciated.

    Thanks.

That is PERFECT!!!! Thank you thank you thank you!! I already put it in my project, and it works great, so I can use it now and figure out HOW it works later. You really saved my butt.
