I have a home wireless network with a firewall enabled router. i have comodo internet security installed on both windows xp (sp 3) computers. Comodo's summary page indicated that i had 50+ active connections with most being UDP out to the same and similar destinations. am i right to be alarmed?

    Hi goryirol.

You are right to be concerned although it is possible it is safe and wanted traffic, Comodo, allows you to set specific rules for each and every application including windows itself. so i would go have a look and see what is allowed to connect out and what is not!

I always set my firewalls to block everything and ask me for permission to make each connection, then set a rule for it as they come...

Needless to say, very little is allowed to connect out from my computers!

Let me know if you need any advice on the comodo GUI :)

Note: i notice you say you have a "firewall enabled router" ...... if you actually have a proper hardware firewall then you do not need comodo at all.

But then you need to set that to stop unwanted connections :/
