I have heard almost nothing about it, yet I use it. I haven't had any problems with it, but I was wondering in this case if no news is good news? Ever since I've been visiting this forum, the sentiment I have gathered is that Microsoft Security Essentials is probably the best free option for Windows users. Is it a security suite? I will guess yes, judging by the name. I want to make sure I am using the best possible security software for my situation.

    Greetings, evti...

Comodo Internet Security is listed by MajorGeeks and has been given a rating of 4.68, which I would guess is pretty good. On the other hand, MSE is also good...

Internet security is more about surfing habits and common sense - antispyware and antivirus programs are only as good as you allow them to be...

IMO, if you're having no problems with Comodo, then continue to march with it. Never know what problems might pop up if you needlessly try to switch antivirus programs...

I made up a phrase one time: If it ain't broke, don't fix it.™

Microsoft Security Essentials has a slow problem. It works well but it's a dog. Companies like Comodo fill these gaps and just about all their tools are at least very good if not excellent.

MS Security Essentials in NOT a suite. You must enable a firewall (I use Win 7's built in one but you can chose another stand alone one) and I also run the paid version of Malwarebytes with MS Security Essentials.

On some computers. None of mine, I run XP and Win 7 have the slowness that some people experience. If it did, I'd scrape it off and use something else.

I just got a new netbook and am using MSE. I realized it's not a suite when it told me to enable Windows firewall, good thing it did
