My patience with comodo firewall has ran out and i just want rid of it now:banghead

The removal instructions are posted on comodo forums HERE

The instructions involve modifying the Windows Registry, but i dont want to mess around with the reg not knowing what im doing:eek:

There is a shorter version for novice users but im using vista and it's not recommended for it.

I know bazza had trouble with this a while back but haven't heard if he got it sorted or not:confused

Would something like Revo Uninstaller be an option to try?
If so could someone advise me what to do as i have never used it.

    Thanks for any advice guys....

Nup, wildwolf. I've still got orphaned entries I can't get rid of, even by running lots of various programs. (See thumbnail). :cry Bazza

Make sure i back up everything first incase i mess up.

Did you go through the removal procedure on the comodo link bazza?

Im guessing you did but thought i would ask.

Yep, ran everything I could lay my hands on, including the official Comodo removal tools as recommended by Steve (here at MG). I've given up and have just left them in the Registry. They don't appear to be causing any problems, but I am annoyed I can't clean them out of my Registry. I could probably remove them manually but am a bit chicken. :D

Obviously make sure you have a Registry backup before you start. Maybe creating a System Restore point wouldn't hurt either.;)

Hey bazza. I was searching for the removal tools you said steve mentioned, but it seams all of his posts have been removed.
One last question and maybe a bumb one:eek:
Do you remove comodo through add/remove programs before you run revo uninstaller, Or just remove it with revo.
I have never used it so thought it was best to ask first.

    Thanks for the advice..

    Hi WildW

use Revo to uninstall Comodo, then you will need to scan registry for any left overs, even use the manual instrcutions in removing Comodo from the Comodo instructions.

I'll try and find my original thread, as that is where Steve commented. Will post back in a couple of days as number #2 son is on the hunt for a Vista laptop and I'll be busy reducing the crap and loading all sorts of stuff and teaching how to use it. This from a non-Vista user. :D Bazza
