Comp address losted

    Grand son has had his comp formatted now he can not get on the internet ,I ask him to get Run/cmd/Ipconfig /all but his address is not coming up ,How would he get his address back up so he can get back on the internet.
    Any help is appreciated

    What is the output of the ipconfig /all ?

    are the drivers for NIC installed properly?

    He say when running ipconfig /all what is coming up is "Windows ipconfiguration" and that is all ,he is with bt that is British Telecom and had the latest drivers

    It would seem that TCP/IP is not installed properly. My suggestion would be to go to device manager and delete the network card entry. Reboot the machine and when the OS sees the card will either load the appropriate driver or ask where the driver can be found. When the driver gets loaded it should build the TCP/IP stack.
