Ok my computer will not start in any of the modes!!! I have 2 disc recovery 1 and recovery2. I got the computer from an old friend. We no longer speak due to personal issues. Haven't tried to use thoughs yet well because I have no idea what Im doing.... This is the order things happen...I turn on the power to the system it displays the windows thing and says it's starting then a blue screen flashes really quick then it goes to the other blue screen that gives me the option to press f1 another f and f10 for system restore. I've tried f10 and it won't even go to it. Nothing I've tried works!!! PLEASE HELP!!!! I've tried safe mode last know config... NOTHING works!!!! What might have caused this???

    Hi,
What version of Windows are you using?

You need to get your hands on a Windows CD. It needs to be the same version that was originally installed. Look on the outside for a sticker that wil have the version and the Product Key. Once you know the version and have the cd, boot to the cd, and follow the instructions as if your are going to perform an installation. At one point the setup program will search for previous versions of Windows, and it will find it. You will then get an option to press "R" to repair the installation. Do so. When it finishes you should be fine.

If the prompt for f1 is to go to the bios...then do it. Once you get into the bios, look for boot order and change it so that your cd drive is the first. Put you first recovery cd in the drive and reboot ( after saving the changes that you made to the bios!),

You hopefully will get a prompt on reboot asking if you want to boot to the cd....press enter. It should run the first recovery disc and then ask you for the second one.

    Let us know what happens.
