comp wont shut down

i have windows 98
pentium 3 500 mhz
128 sdram
19 gig hard drive


for the last couple days my comp will not shut down!!!!
i click start shut down then it tries to but it will just sit at my desktop pic for like 10 min then i get frustrated and shut it down my self

any help

If I remember correctly this is a known issue and there is a patch for that somewhere on microsoft's web site just look up under win98

it is THE shutdown problem... have this one at school still
