Compaq 162 -System Options not set

When I start my computer up I get the error code 162- System Options not set, it
will also say 44 301 Keyboard error, although all the keyboard options work and I
am certain it's a good keyboard.
I've tried F10 to access BIOS, no such luck. I hooked up a floppy, put in a boot
disk, doesnt boot disk. No other F buttons nor will Delete or ESC get me anywhere.

Now sometimes when I hit F10 upon bootup the first screen is the language selection, then:

SYSTEM
>PCI Bus Master
>System POST
>Power management
>Power on password
>Setup password
>Alternative memory reporting
>System inactivity timeout

COMMUNICATIONS
>Parallel port mode

STORAGE
>Diskette drive A:
>Diskette drive B:
>Select OS type
>Enhanced IDE transfers
>Ultra 33
>Primary IDE controller
>Secondary IDE controller

INPUT DEVICES
>USB legacy keyboard support

MULTIMEDIA
>PCI VGA snoop
>Compaq multimedia monotir
>Onboard monochrome video mode support

EXIT
>Save changes and reboot
>Ignore changes and exit
>Set defaults and reboot


When I exit (with or without making changes) I still get the 162 error message.
Those are the only options given. Any ideas?

Enter the Bios, then hit F9 Select 'Setup Defaults'. This error can happen when the bios gets hosed up by a bad flash. The 301 can be possibly caused by the same problem also.

 

Thanks for the advice, I've tried it and no such luck. The problem is I cant get into the BIOS, just the Computer Setup I mentioned with SYSTEM, COMMUNICATIONS, STORAGE, INPUT DEVICES, MULTIMEDIA, and EXIT
I cant get to any BIOS settings to have it boot to HDD.

Tried 2 different CMOS batteries, not sure if that's it or not.

 

Those are the Bios settings, when you press F10, you are entering the Bios. BTW, what is the model of the computer in question?

 

The computer is Compaq Presario 5062.

I tried F9, nothing happened. Under EXIT there is " Set defaults and Reboot" So I tried that, reboot, same 162 error. Sometimes it'll change to a different screen that says A disk read error occured Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart. I do that and right back to the System Options Not Set and Keyboard Error.
