Compaq needs the video drivers.

I have a Compq Presario 500 and cannot seem to find the video drivers for it, I found one source but I don't know if its going to work, and I know that the compaq website dosen't have the drivers I am looking for. (Mainly I want the video and the sound, they weren't installed because the person I bought the laptop from didn't have them :X )

 

Are sure you got all the zeroes in there? Is it maybe a 5000? If so, there's about 300 different models in the 5000 series. We'd need the exact model number. The 5000's usually have model number like 5027US or 5BW060. Without knowing this exact model number, there is no way to pinpoint your drivers. If the model number is nowhere to be found (look on the side, the back, in the storage compartment on the front) then open the case (after unplugging the power cord) and post the model number of the motherboard. If that won't work for whatever reason, run one of the programs listed below, and post the info provided by them....

EDIT- OK... there is a 500 series of desktop PCs. They have model numbers like 510 or 510CDS or 524. They are apparently pretty freekin' old so drivers may be hard to come by....

EDIT #2 - I read your post for a second time and see that it's a laptop I missed that the first time. A search shows me that there are about 60 different laptops in the 500 series. Look on the bottom and post the EXACT model number and the version of windows that you need the drivers for.
