   The display just flashes white and stays there after some time. Now the display won't even show up unless I use an outside monitor. Seems like it may be getting to hot. It worked fine for about the first hour then it started to go white then it would come back on til finally it went white then I restarted and got nothing? Any ideas?

   really sounds like this is one of those hardware issues that needs some hands on experience, most likely a loose connector from the motherboard to LCD as the backlight is illuminating but no data is getting sent to the LCD.
   
   May need to goto local repair shop... laptop scan be fiddley things.
