    Trying to install xp pro on friends machine. Drivers are available on hp site. when I try to install, get message that drivers must be installed from recovery disc. I think it was on hard drive but had to install new hard drive, old one was trashed. the recovery disc that can be ordered is for xp home. Is there a way to get the drivers to install?

    Odd that the installation prompts for that. I've never experienced it with many Windows OS installations I have done.

    Did you reformat the disk first? Failing that, do you have another XP installation disk?
