I have recently tried to load windows 2000 Pro on my compaq presario SR5130NX and am haveing some troubles with the completion of the installation. So far, I can get to the disclaimer and no further:confused... I am able to exit the install but cannot go further into the process. If anyone could provide a simple walkthrough of what steps should be taken to downgrade a vista presario to 2000Pro, I would really be thankfull.

why are you getting away from vista? don't like it or what? more than likely you are gonna have problems finding all the drivers (for the downgrade), especially with a laptop. anyway, did you format your h/d with your os disk? you might have to start with something like this to wipe your h/d clean (link below).

basically, it will create an .iso file, and you burn that to a cd with nero, or your choice of software.

http://www.majorgeeks.com/Ultimate_Boot_CD_Full_d4981.html <-- this would work also (to wipe your h/d clean, plus other utilities) - This will create an ISO image which you can use to create a bootable CD with your favorite CD burning software.

hopefully, after this you should be able to use your disks now?? if your still having problems and/or can't find all your drivers, post what your looking for, and i'm sure someone will be able to help you track them down. g/l, sos

Okay, I have attempted the dariks boot and nuke, but the pc wont alow me to access the disk on startup
I have tried to use the boot selection option that lets me select either the HD or the Disc drive, but it does not work, only gives me an error message about windows being unable to resume normal operation... nothing about the boot disk... any suggestions as to how I can get the disk to work? are there problems with using the program with Vista PC's?

Okay, I figured it out, I wasn't creating the .iso disk as an ISO project... I have remade it as a bootdisk and done so with ISO formatting using NTI CD and DVD maker... so far, DBAN is running and doing a smashing job!
