I am having an issue with my Compaq Presario V5000 boot. When I attempt to turn on my laptop nothing happens. It doesn't even load the bios. I try to boot up my laptop for about 15 minutes before it finally begins to load up. Someone please give me any advice pertaining to this matter. Thank you.

Welcome to the forum:)The most obvious problem I can think of is a power problem if a laptop battery is below a certain level the power button will have no effect, nothing at all,to be clear is this exactly what happens or do the lights come on and harddrive spin up but you just get a blank screen?

Try removing the battery and running on just the power cable, then try just the battery without the cable, does the charging light, light up when you connect the power cable? If so leave it charging to see if it eventually turns off to indicate a charged battery,if the charging light doesn't come on or never goes off the battery may be dying, when you get into windows check the battery level in control panel use the laptop with just the battery after it has been charged to 100% check the battery is going down steadily and you are able to use the laptop for a good few hours.

Thanks for the warm welcome to the forums!

I will try what you have suggested, but does it matter that the battery on that laptop is brand new?

If you take out the battery and the laptop still acts the same, then no.

One of the HP solutions is to remove the RAM (computer memory) and reset them. (Sometimes the computer takes a "hard landing" and these get knocked around.)

I had a "black screen" bootup issue on restarts after installing Microsoft updates and this was the solution.
