Compaq Presario V5000 won't turn on.

Hey, my gf has a Compaq Presario V5000 with XP. She said she was using it to day, and all of a sudden it said "Preparing to Hibernate", and shut off. She went to go turn it back on and nothing happened. When you press the power button, this little light on the bottom left corner blinks three times and then nothing. Its a little orange thunderbolt. No sounds or anything. The power light on the power button doesnt turn on though. Tried takin the battery out and starting it, but no change, light doesnt flash either. No idea where to start or what to begin testing or how. Ideas?
