Compaq with Windows 7 Enterprise - STUCK!

I have a client with a Compaq CQ56 ($300 Walmart Laptop) that originally came with Windows 7 Home Premium. He downloaded the Windows 7 Enterprise Trial over a year ago and has finally come to the point where it shuts down on him every hour.

I've tried going into recovery mode but it just loops me back to a reboot. It seems the utility partition is damaged.

I have a copy of Home Premium to load back on, but the product key sticker is unreadable due to bad placement on Compaq's part. It's burnt from the machine being too hot.

What's the quickest way to get a new key? Will Compaq give me one?

Meanwhile, I'm trying to back up his files while the machine shuts off on me very hour.. GRRR!

This has turned out to be one of those 5 minute, 6 hour jobs!

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi

Sadly if your copy of Windows 7 Home Premium is a retail copy the key from Compaq if you could read it would not work as OEM copies of Windows have different keys to Retail versions,

You maybe best contacting Compaq with the model number and serial of the PC and see if they will send you a new restore DVD and let you know the OEM serial key, but they are likely to charge you a small amount for this service.
