Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone knew of any definite compatability issues between the Sapphire Radeon 9200 graphics card and the soltek SL-85DR2-C motherboard?

    Here's my problem:

My computer crashed and burned during a game of Rise of Nations the other day and refused to restart. Since the mb POST tests weren't even starting and no output was ever put to the monitor I assumed a mb or cpu burn out. I replaced the mb and cpu with a spare my mate had lying around (2Ghz P4 and the soltek mb listed above), reformatted the hd an reinstalled xp pro. Everything appears to work fine until it is time to install the graphics drivers at which point, on restarting the computer to finish the install windows starts to boot up, however the screen goes blank for a couple of seconds just after the monitor tries to change resolution before displaying the windows log on screen. Finally some garbled output is displayed to the screen for a couple more seconds and then the computer just shuts down and restarts. The point at which this error occurs suggests some sort of conflict between the graphics and motherboard drivers...

The graphics card doesn't appear to be physically damaged since it handles windows safemode and windows installation graphics fine, which I assume use the same actual circuitry as when using the true radeon drivers and hence i don't think the card is physically damaged. I have the latest motherboard drivers from the soltek website and have flashed the BIOS with the latested rom. I have tried several different radeon drivers (new and old) as well as the Radeon Omega drivers and the same error always occurs in exactly the same place. Im using version 6.xxx of intels 845E series AGP drivers but have tried several different version and always the same error.

If anyone has any suggestions for anything that I should try, or if anyone has encountered this problem before I would be very grateful to hear from you. Are there any known compatibility issues between this mb and graphics card (radeon and soltek dont mention any) or should I be looking for a new graphics card?

Cheers for any advice you guys can give....
