compatibility mode Questions

How do i get older games to run on windows 7 64bit.They ran fine in Xp 64bit but will not run in windows 7 64bit.Any ideasconfused

 

Your thread title comes to mind as an answer.

Use compatibility mode.

 

Tried with three games and did not work.It will not even install.

 

Then you are probably out of luck unless the developer has provided a workaround. Unless of course, they are basic enough to run in a VM. In which case you could virtualize Windows XP.

 

You might try running the games within the environment DOSBox (a free downloadable program) but it's only suitable for some games - I used it for SIMCity2000 I think (might have been SimCity though). It's really for running old DOS programs
