After checking google it looks like your cpu might work in the motherboard your asking about but i can't promise that it will work

Does the north and south chipset have anything to do with what processor you can put in?

i believe the FSB for that processor is 800mhz (not sure but i think that's right. my 3.0ghz p4 is 800mhz FSB) and the second motherboard listed only runs a 533/400mhz FSB. It will work but it will be slower. Are you considering buying a new motherboard for socket 478? if so, i highly recommend the ASUS p4p800-E deluxe

But does the north and southbridge chipset have anything to do with what processors can be put on a motherboard?

Cause if not, I'm gonna go start building my computer back. I'm sick of using crap laptops.
